Have you been? If not, you should go there fast for a weekend gettaway. Annecy is just 3h30 on the train from Paris and is small enough to visit on foot. The town is ever so picturesque and is commonly known in France as "la Venise des Alpes" (its glorified appellation). You will be charmed by it turquoise blue lake, its old medieval town and the revitalising Alps. Oh, and mind the good Savoyard cheese, it is irresistible (yum).
