Dolce fare niente.

We are back from our holiday which went by in a flash! Our first few days off we spent them hanging out in Paris and last week we visited my parents in La Turbie, a small town located just minutes from Monaco. I was born in that mini country and lived there until the age of 12 so it was very special to go with L. for the first time and relive some of my childhood memories. Since the weather wasn't all that great and our little fella got very sick, we ended up spending a lot of time 'at home' -- though it was completely different from our home time spent in Paris because we had what we usually crave for the most as city folks: s.p.a.c.e! A house, a garden and a pool - what more could we ask for? That's right, scrumptious food I hear you say. Well Italy being less 20km away, we went crazy food shopping in Ventimiglia when we arrived and happily spent the week eating fresh pasta, juicy tomatoes, and 'real' mozzarela di buffala which we drowned in sunny olive oil. Hmm, time for a diet now.

  5. Thanks everyone! We really did have a good time. So hard to be back in the office today. But what I will miss most of all is spending quality time with L. It broke my heart to leave him this morning.

    Bisous xx

  7. You look amazing! Love your blue tshirt and L's gorgeous stripy sunhat! However do you get him to keep it on his head? M throws hers off every single time I put it on her! How lovely to be in Monaco and so glad you mentioned Ventimiglia - we had our honeymoon in Nice and as neither of us had ever been to Italy at that point, we hopped on a train a couple of times and gorged ourselves on delicious food. Such good memories!

  8. Hi J! L.'s hat is from Bout'chou and I bought the top in H&M (which I went off for over a year and recently rediscovered!). I love going to Ventimiglia, especially to the Friday morning market. Isn't the train ride from Nice the best you've ever done? I could do it over and over and never get tired of that view! xx

  9. Yes definitely a wonderful train ride! I'm the same with H&M - you kind of have to ride out the dull collections and then you're rewarded with gems! Have a lovely day x
