The amazing Thief & Bandit shop has just launched its children's line: Thief & Bandit Kids. I'm totally smitten with their Navajo-style leggings and headbands. All I need now is a baby girl to have an excuse to shop there (i'm not too big about that style for boys, but that's just me). Winter hats for babies.

In just a couple of hours we will be setting off to Bruges  (our cancelled baby moon destination from last year) and I have the strange feeling that we are going to freeze our bottoms off in this Venice of the north. A franglaise in Madame Figaro.

I’m excited to share with you that today, little me appeared in Madame Figaro – a French fashion magazine. I was interviewed for this article back in September but with my busy bee life, I had completely forgotten it was due to be released round about now (thanks Kenza for texting me this morning!). The magazine will be available in newspaper agents as of tomorrow but in the meantime the full article (in French) can be read here. I’ll be going down to my local newsagent first thing tomorrow morning to stock up on a zillion few copies of “almost famous me”.

Hope you are all set to have a lovely weekend, my dears. We are a babyless since yesterday so tonight we are going for drinks, dinner and a movie; tomorrow, we are having a house party to celebrate my 29th wrinkle and I can’t wait to boogie on the dance floor.

Munster Kids.

Today, I walked over to Not So Big in the 2e arrondissement to buy a gift for L.'s latest baby friend. It's a fabulous little shop with lots of superb items, from the famous Oeuf cots, to the Smiling Planet dishes, little Marc Jacobs clothes, and Flensted mobiles. While I was there, I feel in love with the funky Mini Munster clothes by Munster Kids. They look more like the type of clothes a rebelious teenager would want to wear rather than a little angelic baby but I guess that's what makes them so attractive.  Be sure to check out more Munsteresque clothes on their website or visit Not So Big.

Cotton & Milk

I was just visiting Little Circus shop to view the new autumn arrivals and discovered lovely items from Cotton & Milk. I am thinking that white vintage rocking horse would be a lovely gift for L.'s first birthday (planning far ahead I know, but I always run out of ideas for presents when people's birthdays are actually approaching).

27 weeks of prezzies.

On Tuesday, baby L. was 28 weeks and just this morning I realised we reached that moment. That week. The one that baby L. finally spent without receiving a present. I'm not complaining, no. I simply cannot believe the boy has actually had 27 weeks of non-stop gifts. It is surreal. He probably has more clothes now than he'll ever have when he's older. No, seriously. I haven't exactly counted but since he was born, he's received over a dozen pairs overalls, trousers, shorts, socks, shoes, and hats, including countless onesies and PJs. I cannot thank everyone enough for their overwhelming generosity towards the birth of our baby boy. So I have decided to dedicate all next week's posts to these amazing prezzies (well, just a selection of them otherwise I'll be posting till Xmas) as you may just well be interested in some of this baby gear we have received.

L'incontournable champignon belge.

They are everywhere. These red and white toadstool lamps by Belgian toy manufacturer, Egmont, have invaded Paris and I am seriously considering letting one enter our home. I cannot walk into a kiddy store or browse my favourite online shops without seeing this night light (and its big brother) which is probably why I will not resist the temptation for much longer.

Jellycat.

I am amazed that since baby L. was born, he has not spent a single week in his life without opening a new gift. Our friends, family and colleagues are spoiling the boy rotten. One of the many great prezzies he has received so far is a Jellycat soother, perfect for newborn babies. It is so soft and cuddly, he adores falling asleep with it. I love the quirkiness of these soft toys so much, I am already thinking about getting him a couple more cuddlies for when he is a little older. I find these ones hard to resist, don't you?








As a UK based toy manufacturer founded in 1999, Jellycat has become one of the leading producers of soft toys worldwide. Quite an impressive performance in just a decade of existence.

Baby L. finally fits in his sleepsuit by Absorba, a classic and affordable French brand for babies and toddlers (I was dressed in Absorba clothes when I was little). Below are a few of my favourite vintage items, a collection designed in 2009 to celebrate the company's 60th anniversary.

Gap + Stella McCartney.

I am a huge fan of GapKids and today I went back to the store thinking I was just going to exchange an item I bought for baby L. but lo and behold, what was on their shelves? Stella McCartney designed outfits for babies and toddlers! My friend Vanessa who lives in Barcelona and was pregnant at the same time I was, had already blogged about McCartney's partnership with Gap back in November but I never actually saw any of her designs in the Parisian stores this winter. Her summer collection is, however, definitely available in all the babyGap and GapKids shops in town so you had better be quick if you'd like to check it out! I simply could not resist buying this little striped henley T for my son.

Baby L.'s Jack Frost slippers have arrived and I am absolutely in love with them. As a member of Team Eco Etsy, Little Friend sells children's clothing and accessories made from new but mostly recycled and vintage fabrics. My son's slippers arrived in the letter box today in a nice shinny aluminium envelop...which in fact, was a bag of crisps turned inside out. What great way to recycle!

©LaFranglaiseAs it is custom at the moment, baby L. has once again been showered with presents. This time, it was American Apparel outfits... for babies! I had only a couple of times walked in an American Apparel shop in Paris and never noticed the baby/kids corner. Probably because back then, before being pregnant and having my son, I was not yet equipped with my powerful baby radar (nowadays, it's beyond my control. I cannot go anywhere without spotting baby shops!). The Los Angeles based brand which is well-known for making fashionable basic cotton knitwear with flashy colours and no visible logo arrived in France in 2004 and today, there are seven shops in Paris alone. Despite all their worldwide locations, American Apparel does not outsource its labour, making it one of the very few brands exporting "Made in USA". As I returned to the first ever shop that oppened in Paris @ Marché St. Honoré, I could hardly resist buying some more outfits for baby L. You can check out the online store here, where they not only have clothes for men, women, children and babies but also...dogs! Only in America. Woof!
