Tuesday tune: Chilly Gonzales.

I know it's Monday but I can't wait until tomorrow's Tuesday Tune to share this video with you. It is Chilly Gonzales, a piano virtuoso, provocative entertainer, world record holder for the longest solo-artist performance, and...our next door neighbour. We saw him live on Saturday and it was probably the best concert I have ever seen. Gonzales' ego is excessive to the point he calls himself a musical genius, but in fact, that's exactly what he is. A genius who inspires so many failed piano players like myself yet despite his success, is so laid back, he goes shopping in his slippers.

Update: this pretty much sums up the concert (article in French).

ps: thank you all for your kind words after Friday's post. I'm just going through one of those moments - a "coup de blues" as the French say. But I'll get over it. I just need to chillax more! (in the words of Jgee)

  4. Un égo démesuré!! Mais j'adore. You should go see him next time he's playing. I've never laughed so much at a concert and at the same time, been so musically impressed. It was a real show!

  5. Coucou, ça va mieux?
At first I wasn't sure if this video was a joke or not, until Mr G. started playing. Then I grabbed our Little Bean and we watched and listened together. He loved it, we watched it 3 times over and our little guy just stared and listened. Great stuff.
